Esquire magazine of all places leaked the C8
I actually like it. Especially the glass window looking into the engine bay

Finally, the Corvette that’ll actually make people think you’ve got a Ferrari.

The only thing I don’t like is the Corvette badging. This car is awesome and shame on GM for not giving it a chance to make a name for itself.

They should’ve made the rear window wrap around, so it could at least look somewhat like the C4-C7 look

Manufacturers ‘s should have their wheel-designing privelages revoked.

I like it all, except the huge trunk surface area. Idk, I need to look at other mid-engine super cars and see if they do it too but it really feels like they shape that area more narrowly. It looks like a ma ttress would fit back there! Wonder if it's as practical as the C7 trunk is, I loved that aspect.

Looks fast. The next Z06 will be a world-beater, for sure.

Surely there’s room for a golf bag.

This looks fantastic and I feel it is very on- brand for the C orvette in the sense that it ostensibly provides performance on-par with cars nearly double the Corvette’s price tag. That being said I am surprised there is so little continuity between what we have come to know as the ‘traditional Corvette shape’ and the C8, but that is likely intentional and the taillights are reminiscent of the C7 IMO. Unless I’m missing things only die-hard corvette enthusiasts would notice.

The obvious answer is the need for space for multiple (?) bags of golf clubs. Also maybe it’s there with the expectation of a convertible model in the future.

Neat!!!
Not fully revealed til we know the pricing. I feel like that will drive the story line.

I’m digging it. I've been wanting a mid engine corvette forever. Even enough to accept an automatic only scenario. I just hope it is a super responsive DCT like the PDK

It’s not bad looking but it’s not very original. Everything forward of the air intakes is very 488 -shaped, the rear greenhouse looks like it should be on a Lamborghini , and the rear end looks like one of those non-copyright-infringing cars from GTA.
Corvettes have always had very cohesive designs that could be nothing other than a Corvette. This one is just generic supercar.

Did they schedule the release for late at night and then do a leak ahead to get people to stay up or something? And why Esquire, of all places? I don’t understand these things.

I think it looks pretty good, but I'm not exactly their target audience of people who buy new cars.

The 570 GT has it , but the longer rear glass hides it better.

I think they mostly close that nice 2D airfoil shape from above almost all the way , rather than cutting it short like the Vette image. Makes it seem more narrow in the former vs the latter.

Now that looks really good. I bet it even sounds better than the sound of those whiny vette-daddy baby boomers complaining about the engine being in the wrong place lol.

They just announced that starting price is under 60 grand. That's lower than I was expecting.

Starts under 60,000 dollars is what they just announced. No idea what the options will cost.

I just heard and the phrase that comes to mind is “mic drop”. I thought a starting price under 80k would be impressive but 60? Truly impressive.

As long as it’s not a gimmick where there’s a dirt cheap base model that nobody sells so you end up needing to go a tier up if you want functional doors and windows and its costs an extra 15 grand.

I love it. True, it is a bit generic, as others have said, but outside of the era from 1953-1973, I don’t think Corvettes have really set the world on fire with their styling. I think the majority of us won’t be too worried about that in 15 years when we buy one at 1/3 of original MSRP.

I feel like there’s no way the base could be so bad as to make it unacceptable or like a non-offering but you’re right; hopefully the prices on the options and trims are more Chevy and less supercar.
